Since 1968, Kenward Trust has been delivering residential rehabilitation and support services to men and women in Kent with alcohol and substance dependency issues. Every year we support an average of 200 men and women through our residential rehabilitation projects, whose lives have been adversely affected by dependency on alcohol or substances.
Our specialist teams of experienced and highly skilled therapeutic staff and key workers provide the necessary support and guidance to residents that enable them to understand and address the causes and consequences of their substance misuse. This will involve group work and one-to-one sessions that may include counselling as well as activities focused on personal development and growth. In addition we can offer whole family support to assist an individual in reconnecting with their family, which is so essential to sustaining their long term recovery.
At our main site in Yalding we are set in 15 acres of rural Kent countryside. This enables us to provide a safe environment of protected abstinence for our residents away from the distractions of every day life. They are able to begin their recovery journey, supported by staff who are not only highly trained but confident in their work and, above all else, empathic towards our residents. From the day that men and women arrive at Kenward, we provide them with support and opportunities, empowering them to make beneficial changes in their lives and work towards the future they would like to have.
When residents are ready to take their first steps towards living independently again, our Move On houses offer supported accommodation for men and women who have been in recovery for at least 6 months. Our four houses are based in Gravesend, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. Each property has between 4 and 5 single bedrooms. They are all located within close proximity of town centres, with easy access to local services and amenities, enabling residents to access training, volunteering and employment opportunities. They also provide easy access to AA and NA meetings. Residents can stay in our Move On houses for up to two years.
Kenward Trust is passionate about our work in helping individuals transform their lives by avoiding dependence upon drugs and alcohol. This is vital and essential for all of us living in society since substance abuse can affect anyone, anywhere and at any time of life.
