Excellent food and relaxation in Tudeley
We recently discovered a new pub and restaurant in Tudeley near Tonbridge. Tucked out of the way The Poacher & Partridge lies on a quiet country road and seems to offer something for everyone. There is a large sit up bar with cosy nooks for quiet drinks, a beautiful restaurant extension which is spacious and airy and two outside areas with great views – one has an outside bar with a play area for children and the other is at the front of the pub (for those who wish to avoid them!)
There is a good range of food from steaks to seasonal specials plus plenty of choice for children. Local beers and ales together with a comprehensive wine list have been well selected and are reasonably priced. The restaurant is spacious with a high ceiling and large windows overlooking the garden and fields. Waiters and bar staff were friendly with a good sense of humour and this, coupled with the beautiful view, makes for a truly relaxing experience.
I really enjoyed the food – excellent Knell Farm asparagus with free range egg and chorizo jelly from the specials board for starters and ‘The Beach’ – seafood pizza – from the wood fired oven. There is an excellent selection of puddings but, sadly, I had no room and so will have to wait until the next visit to try those.
We are looking forward to returning and relaxing in the garden with a glass (or two!)
