Brunch at St Leonards
Having recently enjoyed dinner at St Leonards in West Malling I was delighted to find out that the restaurant is now offering brunch Wednesday to Sunday. Breakfast and brunch have always been one of my favourites mealtimes, so I was keen to try their menu.
We arrived mid-morning and the restaurant was bright and airy with a relaxed atmosphere. We sipped some English breakfast tea and an americano whilst checking out the menu.
There’s a good selection which includes granola with compote and pain perdu with jam and crème fraiche. However, for me breakfast/brunch is incomplete without eggs and St Leonards offers this in several ways: on sourdough with Winterdale Shaw cheese and ham, with bacon, hash brown and mushrooms, or scrambled, with smoked salmon and caviar on grilled potato bread. I opted for the last one and my friend chose the wild mushrooms on toast with fried egg. Prices range from £6 to £14.
Brunch was delicious. St Leonards is relaxing and a fab place to catch up with old friends (or new).
After brunch we wandered off to West Malling Country Park, enjoying the lake views and wildlife – a lovely way to spend a morning!
