The Moody Mare, Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth
We’ve known The Moody Mare for many years and have spent many Christmas Eves enjoying a few drinks with friends and family.
Our most recent outing was for a large family meal celebrating a 70th birthday with four generations! I think there are not many places that can successfully keep over 20 people with ages ranging from toddlers to great-grandparents so well fed and – most importantly – relaxed. We were seated in the tipi which meant the little ones could safely play in front of us whilst adults were dining.
All the meals were tasty, portions generous and service friendly and helpful. A couple of the starters we loved were King Prawns on crisp bruschetta with tomato concasse and a baked camembert with chutney. For mains I enjoyed the plump moules mariniere with rustic chips, whilst others had the tender lamb shanks, chicken Ballantine and fillet steak with blue cheese sauce.
The most popular dessert was sticky toffee pudding, closely followed by chef’s crumble. I noticed that all plates were cleared
