Looking for a lively way to round off the summer holidays? The Kent Country Show returns to Quex Park in Birchington on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August, bringing together countryside traditions, family entertainment, animals, food and live performances in one action-packed event.
The main attractions promise plenty of excitement throughout both days. Visitors can look forward to falconry displays, horseback demonstrations, motorbike and BMX stunts, barrel racing, heavy horses and live wrestling demonstrations. A Steam Rally and Festival of Cars will run alongside the
show, with classic vehicles offering another reason for motoring enthusiasts to visit.
Dog lovers will have an event of their own to explore, as Kent We Love Dogs takes place alongside the Country Show. Attractions are expected to include charity fun dog shows, pedigree classes, agility, flyball, gundog displays and entertaining competitions. Visitors are welcome to bring their own dogs, provided they are kept under control.
There will also be plenty for younger family members, including Punch and Judy, puppet shows, donkey rides, superheroes, reptiles and traditional entertainment. Rural crafts will feature strongly, with demonstrations such as chainsaw carving, wood carving and archery offering an opportunity to discover unusual skills.
Food and drink form another important part of the day. Visitors can browse artisan producers, enjoy street food from around the world and watch live cookery demonstrations. Trade stands will also showcase products from independent and local businesses.
The show runs from 10am until 5pm on both days at Quex Park, Manston Road, Birchington, CT7 0HR. Parking is free, dogs are welcome and under-fives enter free. Advance tickets cost £13.95 for adults, £12.95 for concessions and £6.50 for children aged 5 to 15.
