School Council Summit in London

Our School Council travelled into London for a School Council Summit with several other London schools within our national collaboration group. They travelled to Lewisham by train and spent the day hearing from five school councils about their schools and projects that they are working on as well as delivering a presentation about our school.

Well done to all the children for speaking clearly and sharing informative points about our school.

Wellbeing Committee Visit to the East Malling Fair Share Centre

Kings Hill School Wellbeing Committee took our harvest food to the East Malling Fair Share Centre, along with Duke our Therapy Dog. The children then had the opportunity to talk to Katie Smith, the lady who helps to run the Centre, who told them all about how it works. Katie explained that families who were struggling to feed their family could come and take food from the food bank each week to help them ensure there was food for their family to eat. The children really enjoyed their visit and said they ‘loved the feeling of giving to others’ and asked if they could ‘think of a way of raising further money’ for the local families that needed support.

Wellbeing Visit to Kings Hill Pre-School

The Wellbeing Committee and Duke the Therapy Dog spent the afternoon at Kings Hill Preschool playing with the younger children. The Wellbeing Commitee loved helping with the children’s reading, washing hands and snack time as well as making sure the nursery children had a lot of fun. The adults working at the nursery said they the children loved the visit and can’t wait for us to visit again.

Pudsey Walk with Kings Hill Pre-School

Our Wellbeing Committee set up a Pudsey hunt in conjunction with the local Pre-School. Adults and children from Kings Hill Pre school joined us on site to hunt for woodland creatures and a few hidden Pudsey Bears in order to raise money for Children in Need.

The Wellbeing Committee helped each of the younger children to find their way through our outdoor classroom and beautiful woodland area to find the hidden clues.
