Food at Gustoso Ristorante EnotecaGustoso Ristorante Enoteca

Last week we took the train up to London to visit an exhibition at Tate Britain. Walking from Victoria Station, we discovered a family run Italian restaurant tucked away in a residential area and decided to pop in for lunch.  Gustoso Ristorante Enoteca is a spacious restaurant based in a contemporary glass fronted building. Staff are friendly and welcoming.  We were early for lunchtime, but the restaurant already had several busy tables – surprising for a Monday. They have an a la carte menu and daily specials plus recommended regional wines.

I chose a burrata salad for starters. This came with strawberries and tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar and a little fresh basil. It may sound an odd combination but was outstandingly good! Perfect when
combined with the recommended Soave. My friend popped out to smoke instead of having a starter. She enjoys this more.

Food at Gustoso Ristorante EnotecaFor main course we both had a pasta dish: she chose the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, rosemary and parmesan whilst I plumped for the tagliatelle with monkfish, garlic and fresh tomato sauce.

The food here is home-made, full of flavour and portions are generous.

If you are in the area and love Italian regional food, we recommend a visit.
