If your usual dining routine is starting to feel a little predictable, our 2026 restaurant reviews offer plenty of inspiration for your next outing.

For big flavours and a lively atmosphere, El Mariachi in Tonbridge brings the fun. From sizzling fajitas and generous sharing starters to a cocktail menu with more than 60 choices, including the spectacular Jellyfish, this is not the place for a quiet sandwich.

Also in Tonbridge, Gaab Kao serves Thai food packed with flavour. Aromatic duck, Massaman curry and the spicy, slightly sweet Chu Chi seabass all impressed us. We enjoyed it so much that one visit quickly became two, which is surely the most convincing review of all.

If generous portions are your priority, try Havet. This buzzing Turkish restaurant delivered excellent quality meat, intense flavours and friendly service. The lamb doner iskender proved that a dish not eaten for more than 40 years can make a very successful comeback!

For something lighter, CAHM at The Nuttery in Ryarsh is a peaceful spot for coffee, cake or lunch. Homemade spiced apple and cinnamon cake beneath a shaded gazebo made for a wonderfully relaxed summer escape.

From Mexican cocktails and Thai curries to Turkish favourites and homemade cake, there is plenty waiting to be discovered close to home.

So gather some friends, give the washing-up a night off and try somewhere new.  Your next favourite dish could be just down the road.
